Basalt is a quaint mountain town that owes its rich history to the Midland railroad and its former mining days. Located in close proximity to Basalt, the Ruedi Reservoir is a popular spot to take out your boat and pursue different types of water sports. This charming town prides itself on being a friendly, close-knit community made up of a diverse group of residents who share common values. The vibrant Downtown Basalt offers locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, businesses and art galleries. Locals really appreciate having everything they could want or need be within walking distance. The community gets together every Sunday in the summer for a Farmer’s market that is held adjacent to Lions Park and hosts a variety of vendors, demonstrations and live music.

The close proximity to the Willits Town Center with its up-and-coming developments is another draw to Basalt. Less than 10 minutes away, Willits is a thriving mixed-use neighborhood featuring a variety of shops and restaurants including a Whole Foods and City Market grocery stores, health and spa services, as well as lofts and upcoming apartment buildings.
